FFO: The National, David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Cate LeBon
Indie rock built on tension, restraint, and the kind of resolve that doesn’t need to shout.
SHORT BIO:
Time Parade is a Charlotte-based indie rock band channeling the emotional restraint of The National, the art driven edge of Bowie, and the angular urgency of Arctic Monkeys. Originally founded by Chris Lonon as The Olde Guard, the project evolved into a five-piece outfit following the 2023 LP At the Lighthouse. Re-emerging as Time Parade, the band sharpens its guitar-driven sound on the forthcoming EP Those Who Do Not Jump Will Never Fly (April 2026), exploring anxiety, resolve, and quiet strength in uneasy times.
LONG BIO:
Time Parade is indie rock driven less by agenda than by emotional release. What began as a solo project from Charlotte, NC musician Chris Lonon under the moniker The Olde Guard evolved following the 2023 LP At the Lighthouse (Mint City Records), a record written and performed entirely by Lonon. Expanding into a five-piece band marked a shift — not just in personnel, but in scale. The collaboration widened the project’s emotional reach and sharpened its dynamics, steering it toward a more guitar-centered, tension-forward identity.
Re-emerging as Time Parade, the group’s forthcoming EP Those Who Do Not Jump Will Never Fly (April 2026) signals that evolution. Led by the single “Poor Anselmo,” the record leans into themes of anxiety, dissolution, restraint, and hard-won resolve. Angular guitars and driving rhythms build toward release with intention.
Time Parade writes songs about pressure — and what survives it.
